JIMAS starts in a grand opening ceremony on 26th April 2011 at the Shiv Chhtrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi, Pune

The Jalnawala International Martial Art Summit 2011 (JIMAS) commenced in Pune today. A grand opening ceremony was held at the Shiv Chhtrapati Sports Complex in Mhalunge, Balewadi. The ceremony witnessed the presence of over 1000 people which included dignitaries, martial art students, referees & coaches from all over India.
The chief Guest was Vidyavachaspati Gurudev Shankar Abhyankar. In the presence of special guests, Shri Babasaheb Landge (Secretary General of Maharashtra Olympic Association), the Korean Consul General- Dr. Seo- Hang Lee, the games were officially announced open. Also present were Mr. Ashok Jalnawala- President Jalnawala Sports Training And Research Center (JSTARC) & Master Nilesh Jalnawala- CEO & Co-Founder JSTARC
The esteemed guests from Korea included the world’s No. 1 Taekwondo demo team K-Tigers & their head Master An Hak Sun & Master Scott Seo of the Hanminjok Hapkido Association & World Kido Federation. The highlights of the event were the traditional beginning by a beautiful classical dance performance- ‘Ganesh Stuti’. There also was a mesmerizing performance by Praveen Hole & his team of the Maharashtrian Martial Art- Dandpatta. A mock match in Taekwondo was also presented. The finale was a breath-taking performance by K-Tigers in Taekwondo & Extreme Taekwondo.
Gurudev Shankar Abhyankar officially announced the games open. There will be various seminars, workshops & competitions held from 26th to 30 tha April 2011 at the venue.
