Team JSTARC's rendezvous with nature.
Nature Trails camp, Durshet.
Adhering to its principle that students should have constructive entertainment along with learning Taekwondo, JSTARC's annual camp / picnic was at the Nature Trails, Durshet. It was a 2 day adventure camp at a campsite in Khopoli (Durshet Forest). This lodge & campsite is located near the Amba river & is surrounded by 35 acres of forest area.
20 JSTARC students from the age group of 5 years to 35 years along with 2 instructors had a fun & activity filled adventure. The location was set in a green environment among the flora & fauna typical to the area. Team JSTARC was mesmerized by the abundance of natural beauty & was very eager to participate.
The camping activities included swimming, map making, valley crossing, trekking, rappelling, talent hunt, treasure hunt & various other teambuilding exercises. The students were split into 3 teams for the camping adventure. There were some awards given at the end of the camp.
1. Best team - Team Nexus 2. Best team leader - Ganpat Rajpurohit 3. Best Camper - Mansi
A student, Aditys says, "I feel it was one of the most complete experiences of my life. We not only understood the meaning of teamwork & leadership but also realize our own strengths & fears. More than fun it was a learning experience for all of us. All of realized what a TEAM is capable of. The camp bonded us even closer. Thanks to our Master we have yet another beautiful page in the history of JSTARC.I again say and I say it aloud:-Two is a company, Three is a crowd…But Twenty is a TEAM."
Another student quotes, "the most important thing that I realized from this camp was 'Respect'. Respect towards my team member, & most importantly to the natural surroundings. The place was so pure that it makes us question our actions that are so disastrous to nature. I also want to thank my masters & instructors at JSTARC & at Nature Trails for the way they took care of us & gave due attention to our needs & safety."
Master Nilesh Jalnawala says, "JSTARC is not only about Taekwondo & sports. Each child that comes to us is our responsibility. I believe that a sportsman must be a complete human being who has experienced a good life. He/she must develop equally in mind, body & soul. After all that's all what the teachings of Taekwondo teaches us."
