Punjab team completes a 10 days Taekwondo camp at JSTARC center at Vashi.
Vashi, Navi Mumbai
The ten-day period from 21st December 2009 to 29th December 2009, saw the hosting of a Taekwondo training camp held by JSTARC at its Vashi centre. The camp was for a seven- member team from Punjab. The team was under the guidance of their head coach Mr. Pawan Kumar. This was the second time that the Punjab team has participated in an JSTARC event, first being the JSTARC Open Taekwondo games held in January' 09
The training included Poomsae (Forms), Taekwondo Aerobics, Taekwondo Dance, acrobatics, sparring and Demonstration techniques. The course for each day was spread over four sessions from 6.30 am to 9.00 pm conducted by three instructors. The team showed great enthusiasm in the training programs, learnt new techniques and updated their knowledge in this ever-expanding, dynamic and diverse martial art.
The camp concluded with an address to the team & instructors by Master Nilesh Jalnawala, the founder of JSTARC, a veteran in the field of Taekwondo. The expressed his gratitude towards the Punjab team for having faith in JSTARC's training programs. He also mentioned that the team was very successful in the training & also displayed a promising potential. The talk also included the ethics and the etiquettes to be followed in this elite martial art and the training methods to be adopted by both the students and the instructors. This camp was a part of a successful line of events held by JSTARC in the year 2009. JSTARC plans to conduct many more similar camps in the future to promote and kindle the true spirit of Taekwondo in every student. The center feels that such programs or taekwondo related events that are organized should have maximum participation of masters & students alike. This will enhance the healthy interaction between various academies & generate world-class players from India.
