JSTARC Open Taekwondo Games - 09
'Jalnawala's Sports Training & Research Center', the epicenter of modern Taekwondo in India is hosting OPEN TAEKWONDO GAMES - A Taekwondo Championship comprising of different facets of modern Taekwondo. This event would showcase different styles of competition in Taekwondo, apart from Sparring which is an Olympic Games medal event.Kyukpka (Power Breaking), Poomsae (Fighting with an imaginary opponent) and Honshinshool (Self defense) are the various forms of competition that would be conducted during these championships. These forms have gained immense popularity in the Taekwondo community and have opened new avenues of competition for Taekwondo practitioners.
With a vision of fostering new dimensions of Taekwondo & the promotion of culture & knowledge related to Taekwondo, India & Korea, JSTARC is organizing the at the gigantic D. Y. Patil stadium. The venue has already been a host to IPL matches & many other such events. We strive to provide a new face to Taekwondo and to develop it as an art, a sport and as a way of living in its true sense. This event would be an eye opener for the Taekwondo fraternity and let people witness Taekwondo in a new light… A stage for exploring new possibilities in different competitions of Taekwondo. A phenomenon that would open various avenues for millions of Taekwondo enthusiasts as a career and a path for International fame and recognition as an athlete.
JSTARC has put together an event that will cater to the interests of Taekwondo aspirants, masters, sports persons, media & film fraternity, school & college students, parents & teachers as well as working professionals. Thus the Games would be an event of its own kind catering to the masses and would have participants of all age groups across India. The event would witness the presence of eminent personalities from various fields like sports, media, Politics, law and order etc.
Organizing Staff:
The management of the games includes internationally certified Trainers and masters from S.Korea - the home land of Taekwondo. The jury of the championship would be specially invited from Korea, the world's numero uno Team - The K Tigers (World Demonstration Taekwondo Team).The Referee and the officials are International players and veterans in the filed of Taekwondo inculcating their knowledge and expertise for more than a decade.
Prizes for the Contestant:
- All the participants would we awarded with a participation certificate to commemorate their participation at Games.
- The winning contestants would we awarded with a medal for their positions attained in their specific categories. (Gold, silver and bronze)
Event Details:
The event will span over a period of 3 days. It will acquire the garb of a fest / carnival. It will have something for everyone. There will be main event venues, demo & performance arenas, games & entertainment pavilion, information & registration desks & many other attractions.
Championship Arena - This arena will hold the actual Taekwondo championships. The details of the same are given below.
Promotion of Indo-Korean Culture - There will be a section dedicated to promoting the Indo-Korean culture. Taekwondo is the national sport of South Korea. The Koreans have developed the sport in many ways on the basis of their culture & heritage (Taekwondo Dance & Aerobics).
Section will have Korean & Indian artifacts, information customs & traditions, travel information, section on photography, knowledge exchange etc. This will be helpful in strengthening the ties between the two countries & an opportunity for Indian Taekwondo students to know more about the country where the sport originated.
Power & Fitness pavilion / junction - This area will, as the name goes will concentrate on the fitness aspect. For any sport person, fitness is of utmost importance. Power comes as a part of fitness. This pavilion will have machines & equipments that will measure power of kicks, punches etc. similarly will showcase fitness equipments & fitness & sports gears. There will be demos & free trials offered by vendors.
Wellness junction - Fitness when teamed with wellness makes life more fulfilled. Wellness aims at a health body accompanied by a healthy mind. This area will play host to organizations & professionals promoting yoga, ayurved, wellness therapies (Aroma, magnetic etc.), Art of Living etc. There will also be beauty & related treatments. Here too there will be demos & free trials offered by vendors.
Knowledge junction - This area will have book stalls, exhibition & sale of infotainment materials other related media. It will attract all students & professionals.
Entertainment marquee - The entire venue will have 2 to 3 stages created to hold demos on Taekwondo at regular intervals. The same places will have cultural programs like dance performances by children & other groups. Small skits performed by theater groups & other initiatives by people attending.
